Volume 53

December 2008

We are taking the month of December off because of all the activities we are all busy with at this time of year! We’ll hope to see you at Park Vista on Saturday, January 10, 2009
THANK YOU NOTE
“The bag of goodies from the Ladies is wonderful! I use the blankets all the time. I like to put my fingers through the holes of the crochet blanket. The hats are great, and I sleep in the jammies a lot! I am really blessed to have such wonderful people who think of me.”  Love, Samantha (age 2 ½ mos.)
SHOPPING FUN
Bob and I were at JoAnn Fabrics at 6 a.m. on Black Friday. The new JoAnn Fabrics is wonderful with no outside waiting. By the time we filled two baskets, we were not in line too long (number 59 according to the “take a number” sign). The cost this year was $1.49 per yard rather than the usual cost of 99 cents, but, still it is a great deal! In the end, we spent $437.09. I love the receipt, which showed a savings of $1325.69! Sewers, we have really cute prints for you with lots of different designs!
THANKS TO THE WASHERS
Wow! I put out the call for help in washing all the flannel, and the job is nearly done already! The last will go out tomorrow and the first has come back already! WOW!
THANKS TO
JOHN HARRIS
Thank you, John, for your generosity in giving us such good prices for our aluminum cans! Your continual support of CCH is very much appreciated!
THANKS TO
CHERYL BENZSCHAWEL
Cheryl crocheted all 95 of the red and green Christmas hats donated to Riverside Hospital (Waupaca) and St. Michael’s (Stevens Point) for babies born in December. I’m positive the parents are excited to be given the hats for their newborns!
HATS AND MORE HATS
We have lots of great hats and adorable mittens, so, if your church has a hat tree, feel free to let me know so you can have some baby hats to put on the tree.
THANKS TO
BOB BOOTZ
Bob stuffs envelopes, puts on stamps, makes deliveries, shops, and generally helps CCH out mightily! I just want him to know he’s appreciated! What a guy!

CREATIVE CARING HEARTS AND CULVERS
We had great fun at the Culver’s Night, bringing in $125 from the 10% proceeds and another $35.75 from Sue’s tip jar! Thank you to our tremendous “waitresses”—Sue Hackbarth, Reni Gaeurke, Char Heger, Shari Cerne, Mary Jo Feldman, Cathy Munster, and me! Please save Tuesday, January 20, for another Culver’s 10% Night. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate. Let’s get the word out at the churches and schools, so more people come to eat at Culver’s that night!

May your Christmas season be very blessed! You make a wonderful difference in the world every day with your creative hands, your caring volunteerism and your generous hearts. That’s why we are called Creative Caring Hearts! Thanks for the blessing of you! Merry Christmas!
